Three people have been arrested over a fire that devastated Nottingham’s Cattle Market on Sunday night

Police investigating the blaze at 5.40pm on November 4 in Meadow Lane, which “significantly damaged” six business, said the blaze had been started deliberately.

Earlier police released CCTV images of three people they said they wanted to question in connection with the incident.

Early indications suggested the blaze at  involved fireworks which were set off nearby.

Several businesses were destroyed by the blaze, including; Internet Reptile, AF Motors, Army Store and a general store with an Army museum.

Donated items dating back to the Second World War were destroyed in the incident.

About 100 fire-fighters arrived at the scene, with one of the firefighters saying it was the “largest fire” he’d dealt with in a 25-year career.
