Nottingham Forest and Preston North End will both be hoping to get back to winning ways after defeats in the FA Cup Fourth Round.
Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka will be without midfielder Liam Bridcutt for the match at the City Ground.
The 28-year-old will serve the second of his two game suspension after picking up his tenth yellow card of the season in Forest’s 2-0 win at Wolves.
Striker Daryl Murphy is back in training but is still not fit after sustaining a rib injury.
Preston are set to see returns of a number of first team players after making eight changes for their FA Cup defeat to Sheffield United.
Striker Jordan Hugill is pushing to start after coming on against the Blades following a spell on the sidelines with a head injury.
Ben Davies and Sean Maguire are both still out with hamstring injuries.
- The two sides last met in December, the game finishing 1-1 at Deepdale.
- A win for Preston could see them rise to eighth, whereas a win for Forest could see them 10 points outside the playoffs.
- The Lilywhites are unbeaten in 6 away games and will equal a club record in the Championship if they avoid defeat.
- Forest have not lost to Preston at home in seven games in all competitions, with four wins and three draws.
Karanka said; “We have a young group of players and we finished the game on Saturday with seven players younger than 23.
“They have to learn but the main thing for me is that they produce on the pitch.”
Preston manager Alex Neil said; “We made quite a lot of changes on Saturday so we should have some lads that might come back in with fresh legs and some lads who performed on Saturday who we are hoping will be okay and can go again.”
The game at the City Ground kicks off at 7:45pm.
