Nottinghamshire police have appealed for witnesses following an incident in the New Basford area of the city.
The fight occurred around 7pm last night (Sunday January 28) on Valley Road.
A man was left with stab and slash wounds but his injuries are not life threatening.
The appeal comes after a second unlinked assault took place on Silverdale Road around the same time, which is a 20-minute walk away.
A second man was taken to hospital after reportedly being assaulted with a hammer.
His injuries are also thought to be not life threatening.
A police spokesperson has said: “If you saw anything or have any information please call us on 101, quoting incident 664 of 28 January.”
