Nottingham’s Winter Wonderland returns to Old Market Square for seventh year running with a special new attraction.
Down in the Market Square, the tree is in place and stalls are being assembled ready for the opening date on the 17th November.
Sur la piste, a French ski lodge inspired bar is coming to the Winter Wonderland, serving fresh unpasteurised beer from Czech Republic.
The double-decked bar will be the host to a variety of different types of music such as electric violins.
“I’m excited to visit the new bar this year as I work in market square so I visit at least once every year”
Sian Selby, 29, Netherfield
Sian Selby, 29, Sales ledger assistant from Netherfield said how she’d recommend the market.
“I’m excited to visit the new bar this year as I work in market square so I visit at least once every year with friends and family. I like the market as it is compact and contained”.
Edward Mellors, Company director of Mellors Group Events said: “Imagine a huge warm French log cabin overlooking the Ice Rink, with a stylish, contemporary feel inside, but with the elegance of that log construction”.
Returning with its past favourite children’s rides the market includes attractions such as the Carousel and Helter-Skelter along with the Real Ice Rink, the centre feature of the city.
The Winter Wonderland and Christmas market has expanded again for 2017 welcoming new traders who are serving food and selling goods to the public.
Peter Foulds, 70, retired from Long Eaton said:
“I have been coming to the market since it has been here and when it first came to Nottingham it was a Continental market but now it lacks variety and the stalls have gone down in value. However I’ll still be bringing the grandkids.”
