The project to regenerate the southern entrance to Nottingham city centre has got under way.
Demolition of the Broadmarsh car park begun today, the first step in a regeneration of the area that Nottingham City Council calls “one of the biggest city centre regeneration projects in the UK”.
The car park will be demolished over the next few weeks and the surrounding streets re-developed.
About the project, Nottingham City Council said; “This will be one of the most significant regeneration projects in the city in recent years.
“The new improvements will reduce or remove traffic around the Broadmarsh area and this, along with a new car park, bus station and refurbished shopping centre, will create a much-improved, pedestrian friendly entrance to the city centre from Nottingham Station.”
