This week marks the first ever Nottingham Loves Cocktails event, a seven day long festival that encourages lovers of fine spirits and punchy tastes to visit the best of what the city has to offer.
The festival, which originally began in Manchester in 2013, has teamed up with 16 local venues to host a selection of events.
Priding itself on vibrancy and quirkiness, we’ve shared some of our favourite cocktail bars Nottingham has to offer.
If you don’t believe us, check them out for yourself!
Where can you find it? 12 Pepper Street, Bridlesmith Gate, NG1 2GH
Known for its vibrant warmth and open mic nights every Tuesday, Pepper Rocks is the perfect place for music lovers or an alternative date night. Serving cocktails for £4.50 every night until 10pm, we also recommend trying their popular Bunk Dogs if you’re feeling peckish.
Where can you find it? 36 Carlton Street, NG1 1NN
One of Nottingham’s best kept secrets. Walking into this underground city bar, you’d think you were walking into a tiny boiler shop. But open the doors and a kooky place, serving cocktails from cereal boxes and unique shaped glasses, it’s the perfect wind-down for any night of the week.
3. Curious Manor
Where can you find it? Trinity Square, Trinity Row, NG1 4AF
From the outside, Curious Manor lives up to its name. With a tree in its core, it boasts some of the biggest range of spirits in the city and produces everything from mason jars to shaker filled cocktails.
4. Last Chance Saloon.
Where can you find it? 47 Stoney Street, NG1 1LX
Tucked away down the side of Stoney Street, Last Chance Saloon is definitely a sophisticated hidden gem of the city. With a huge array of different Whiskeys to try, it’s the perfect place for a bourbon connoisseur.
5. 400 Rabbits
Where can you find it? 15-16 Hurts Yard, NG1 6JD
With it’s colourful and alternative vibes, 400 Rabbits is Nottingham’s first and only dedicated Mezcaleria & Tequila den. It’s also budget friendly as there’s a happy hour everyday between 5pm-8pm with it’s entire menu selection costing just £4.
Where can you find it? 19 Stoney Street, NG1 1LP or 32 Lower Parliament Street, NG1 3DA
Having recently expanded to two bars, Bunk has a small but intimate feel from the moment you walk in. It provides both in-house and modern classic cocktails as well as specialising in chicken wings. With their happy hour running everyday from 5-10pm, it’s no surprise it’s a big hit.
