Pancake day: Tuesday 28 February

The one day of the year that sees people up and down the country put on their chef hats is nearly here.

Whether it be chocolate, bananas, lemon, sugar or bacon, get your ideas flowing – Pancake day 2017 is on Tuesday February 28.

But for those of us that can’t relive the memory of scraping pancake off the ceiling and prefer to dine out, here’s the Top 5 restaurants for pancakes in Nottingham:

At student budget prices, Jo’s Pancake House doesn’t compromise on quality. You can choose from either sweet or savoury options, including the Strawberry American pancake – three pancakes with fresh strawberries, nutella, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream, or alternatively there’s the Feta and Spinach crepe, fried spinach with butter, garlic and feta and cheddar cheese. Serving four fluffy pancakes for just £3.95, The Pudding Pantry is a clear choice for those that are on a budget. If you want to jazz up your dessert, add your own toppings for £1 each, or pick their own special menu of American style pancakes, PB & J, or salted caramel and vanilla ice cream. 3. Kaspa’s: £4.95

Choose between fruity options of strawberry, raspberry or the classic lemon and sugar, for those with a sweet tooth we love the ‘Banoffee Crepe’, a freshly baked hot crepe with banana slices drizzled with their toffee sauce. Find them on Maid Marian Way.

4. Heavenly Dessert’s: £5.90

Heavenly Dessert’s has five mouth watering options to choose from, but our must have is the ‘White Kiss’ crepe, a freshly made crepe, warm white Belgian chocolate, chocolate shavings, a scoop of Caribbean Coconut and whipped cream – tasty! Find them on Angel Row.

5. Bill’s: £6.60

Bill’s breakfast is a Nottingham favourite, running from 10am to 1pm, serving up two main pancake dishes: Three blueberry buttermilk pancakes, with banana, strawberries and maple syrup, or smoked streaky bacon and maple syrup on blueberry buttermilk pancakes – a perfect choice for those who like both sweet and savoury.
