With Pancake Day just around the corner, we have put together a list of the best sweet and savoury recipes which requires next to no effort.

Banana and Greek Yoghurt: Chop two bananas and drizzle with honey. Spread Greek yoghurt over some pancakes, add a spoonful of banana and fold in half. Drizzle with maple syrup to serve.

Triple chocolate: Add a tablespoon of cocoa powder to your pancake mix, stir in white chocolate chunks and serve with a dollop of Nutella and sprinkle with icing sugar.

Caramel oranges and crème fraiche: Make a caramel sauce with sugar, syrup (from canned oranges) and butter and pour over orange segments. Spoon the mixture onto heated pancakes and serve with crème fraiche.

Jaffa Cake: Add buttermilk to your pancake mix to make a thicker base. Then cover with orange marmalade and melted dark chocolate.

Millionaire’s shortbread: Crumble some shortbread, a dollop of caramel and chocolate sauce over your pancake.

Smoked ham and cheese: Lightly cook the pancake batter and sprinkle your favourite diced ham, cheddar and pepper on one half of the pancake, then simply fold the other half of the pancake over the fillings.

Creamy chicken, spinach and pancetta: Gently heat oil in a frying pan adding onion and pancetta, garlic and mushrooms. Next, simmer some shredded chicken, gravy and crème fraîche and bring to a boil. Roll the filling into pancakes, top with cheddar cheese and bake.

Stilton, spinach and egg: Fry spinach and mushrooms with some butter and add a wedge of stilton until it melts. Pour the mixture onto heated crepes along with a soft fried egg and a pinch of salt.

Spicy vegetable: Fry onion in a little oil, adding cauliflower florets until they soften. Then, stir in chickpeas, arrabbiata sauce and coriander and serve over warm pancakes with a tablespoon of yoghurt.

Honey, Feta and Thyme: Crumble feta over warm pancakes with a drizzle of honey and a scatter of thyme leaves.
