Another major UK artist’s fans have fallen victim to ticket touts.
After Ed Sheeran tickets were being sold on secondary ticket sites for prices up to £275, grime artist Stormzy’s Rock City date is another Nottingham show where touts have seen an opportunity.
A mother of a huge Stormzy fan suggested that tickets were sold out at 9.02am this morning (9 February). Lesley Heath said: “I had been on Alt Ticket’s website since 8.45am, all in the hope of buying my daughter and her friend tickets. At 9.02am, the site said it had sold out already.
“Secondary sellers need to be stopped. It is ruining the real fan’s dreams.”
A petition wanting to stop the resale of concert tickets on secondary sites at inflated prices has received nearly 40,000 signatures already.
A single Stormzy ticket for the 29 April gig on StubHub would cost you £69.95, just under triple the face value price of £24.
Stormzy was the first man to reach the UK top 40 with a freestyle rap and his tickets were sold for just £14 when he last performed in Nottingham at Rescue Rooms.
