Nottingham restaurant Griddle & Shake has raised nearly £1000 less than a week after starting its crowdfunding campaign to fix their heating.

The popular burger joint on Fletcher Gate is hoping to reach £30,000 in donations by the middle of March so that they can put more ovens in their kitchen and replace their heating system.

In return for people’s generosity, they are running a reward system with free meals and branded G&S goods up for grabs.

For the top £3,000 donation you can get the ultimate prize of a free burger EVERY DAY FOR THREE YEARS.

For a more achievable donation – £12 can get you a special shout out on their Facebook page, a G&S pen and a free milkshake.

Founder Ed Halls hopes people will get on board, and by giving to the cause can get behind a company which values customers and has strong links with the community.

He said: “We hope when guests come here they know they are coming to somewhere different, somewhere that cares, and cares about making a difference.

“We care about being inclusive in every aspect of our business, which is why we have made some choices about how we operate.

“We here like to support the local community and be green, our artwork is done by local artists, where we can we use local produce and we use packaging that is fully compostable.”

The restaurant are also in the process of launching a system similar to the suspended coffee initiative that originated in America.

They are working together with a local charity at Emmanuel House to help deliver the suspended food to homeless people.

They hope their good ethos will encourage people to help them develop, improve and grow to make the business and community better.
