WORLD CHAMPION Michael van Gerwen will take on Peter Wright when darts’ Betway Premier League returns to the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham next Thursday.

The tournament gets underway tonight, starting in Newcastle.

With so many of the tops players on show, it is sure to provide some fast paced, high quality action.

Night Two in Nottingham will get underway with Adrian “Jackpot” Lewis against Dave Chisnall, in a match that promises lots of 180s.

This is followed by James Wade vs Phil “The Power” Taylor, with Taylor participating in his last premier league, after recently announcing that this would be his last year on the PDC circuit.

The third match of the evening will be fast paced with Jelle Klassen taking on “The Flying Scotsman”, Gary Anderson.

World champion Michael van Gerwen will enter centre stage in the fourth match of the night as he takes on Peter “Snakebite” Wright, as van Gerwen looks to continue his incredible form.

The night ends with fans’ favourite Raymond van Barneveld vs Belgian ace Kim Huybrects.

The Betway Premier League sees ten stars competing across four months at arenas in the UK, Ireland and Netherlands in a bid to win the coveted trophy, which was claimed for a second time by van Gerwen in 2016.
