Residents of Nottingham will be able to see their city form new heights as of today, as the wheel was opened to the public this weekend.

The wheel, which is as high as 15 double decker buses will be open to the public until March with visitors getting stunning views of the city centre and beyond.

Equipped with 60 pods that can hold parties of 6, it took 10 specially trained workers a week to complete the build.

One turn on the 365 ton wheel takes just over 10 minutes and visitors will be able to enjoy 365 degree views of Nottingham as the pods are encased in glass (not for those of us who don’t enjoy heights)

The wheel of Nottingham is open from 10am to 10pm Monday-Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sunday until March 12. Tickets cost £6 for adults, £5 for concessions and £4 for children.
