The City Ground will host Forest's championship game versus Rotherham tonight with both sides needing a result

Nigel Clough could decide on whether to take charge at Nottingham Forest today, a source close to the club has revealed.

It is understood that Forest owner Fawaz Al Hasawi offered Clough the job following talks over the weekend.

Reports suggest that Clough is torn between remaining loyal to Burton Albion and a romantic return to his former club, who he made over 300 appearances for.

The prospect of Clough taking over has been greeted with excitement by Forest fans although some fans fear that the uncertain ownership structure at the club could raise doubts in Clough’s mind.

Forest fan, Paul Lindsay, tweeted: “Nigel Clough for Forest manager. Good man, good manager and he is one of our own.”

Fellow Forest fan, John Henstock, tweeted: “Nigel Clough: right man under wrong circumstances.”
