A broken set of traffic lights is causing extra problems for rush hour motorists this morning.

A power failure has caused the lights at the junction of Cattle Market Road and London Road in West Bridgford to stop working.

The broken lights have added to ongoing traffic problems caused by gas works on Canal Street.

Emergency works are being carried out to fix a gas leak in an underground pipe that occurred last July.

National Grid engineers are expected to be working on Canal Street until Friday meaning that heavy congestion is expected at peak rush hour times.

However, the broken traffic lights are expected to be fixed later today helping to ease ongoing problems.
