Hundreds of hungry pizza fans flocked to Milton Street on Monday to be in with the chance of sampling Inferno’s new lunchtime pizza for free.
The restaurant, which opened its doors in December, offered free pizzas to the first 100 customers to mark the launch of the Infernover.
The new calzone-style pizza comes in three varieties including molten meaty, spicy pepperoni and veg out pesto, each weighing in at under 500 calories.
Natalie Gribben, Nottingham branch manager, said: “This is Inferno’s first specific lunchtime deal.
“We wanted to create something different and introduce a quick, healthier alternative that can be enjoyed on the go or sat down in the restaurant when you have more time.”
Branch manager, Natalie, was impressed by the turnout
The popular chain recently launched a competition giving customers the chance to craft their own speciality pizza and win a place in the Inferno Hall of Flames.
Natalie said: “We have a lot of regular customers, some who come weekly, and some even daily.
“People create lots of different combinations which inspired us to launch the competition.
“I am thrilled at the turnout for today’s launch – Nottingham certainly loves pizza.”
Hundreds of people queued on Milton Street to try the new pizza
Daniel McDonald, 23, was one of hundreds who queued up hoping to nab a slice of the action.
He said: “I’ve been to Inferno a few times before.
“I think it’s a good place to go if you’re in a rush and they have a great selection of toppings.”
Like many, Daniel made sure he arrived early to secure a good place in the queue.
Some people arrived up to an hour early to secure a good spot in the queue
He said: “I’ve been here since 11.30 but some people arrived over an hour ago to be at the front of the queue.
“I’m looking forward to trying the molten meaty because I like my pizza topped with lots of meat.”
The Infernover is available Monday to Thursday, from midday-3pm, and comes with a refillable soft drink priced at £4.95.
