A Nottingham teenager who robbed seven people in two hours armed with a claw hammer has been jailed for four years.

Nottingham Crown Court heard how the man began his city centre thefts after a night of drinking heavily on October 2.

The first robbery took place outside a branch of McDonald’s on Wheeler Gate at 12.50am and the robberies continued up until 3am.

Jaikus Wallace, 19, of Lavender Walk, St Ann’s, was charged after pleading guilty to five counts of robbery, two counts of attempted robbery and in possession of an offensive weapon.

Police found the victims’ belongings at Wallace’s home shortly after.

The first attempt on Wheeler Gate where the victim throw their meal at the defendant before fleeing.

The various other attacks took place on George Street, Glasshouse Street and Byrand Lane.

Wallace was named after being identified on CCTV footage and was also charged with being in possession of an offensive weapon.

Throughout the ordeal, Wallace subjected some of his victims to sit on the floor while he stole their wallets and phones.
