Light Night is returning to Nottingham city centre for one night only.

Nottingham City Council are working with Robin Hood Energy to bring a series of art and entertainment events at locations including the Contemporary, the Galleries of Justice and Nottingham Castle.

Councillor David Trimble, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture at Nottingham City Council, said: “Light Night attracts thousands of people into the city centre for an exciting evening of discovering a new side to the city from 4pm ’til late.

“There is a brilliant variety of events this year and best of all, almost every event is free.”

As part of the evening, a unique digital exhibition titled ‘City of Miracles’ is set to feature at the Contemporary, Weekday Cross, to showcase Nottingham Forest Football Club’s glory years when the team won under legendary manager Brian Clough.

Nottingham Contemporary events manager, Niki Harman, said: “The exhibition will truly showcase the highlights of Nottingham Forest during 1979 and 1980 through a timeline of film, documentary and exclusive photographs.

“Fans will also have a unique opportunity to get professional photographs with the European Cup won by Nottingham Forest.”

Multiple world record holder and football-freestyler Dan Magness will also be present to show some of his skills.

‘City of Miracles’ is free and begins on Friday at 6pm, and runs until 9pm.

Mrs Harman, added: “After last years turnout of over 4,000 people we are expecting a large audience, so we advise any fans who do not want to miss out on this trip down memory lane to get down early.”

The Galleries of Justice is also hosting a special night market created by Sheena Holland, the original creator of the vintage Feather Side Tiara famously worn by Lily Allen.

Ghost tours will be available for half the usual price at £7.50 and it is advised to book ahead.
