10:49 – Notts County are expected to sign centre back Gary MacKenzie on loan from Doncaster. The two clubs are in talks now with a deal expected to be agreed before the end of the day.
10:55 – Mansfield have been linked to signing Swansea defender Daniel Alfei on loan, the 23-year-old former Under 21 Welsh international is in the last six months off his contract so will be hoping to impress and earn himself a new deal.
11:02 – Forest’s hopes of signing a new striker have taken a hit after an administrative error in the loan of Kyle Ebecilio means that his contract can’t be terminated and has left Forest with only one space in their squad.
11:15 – Notts County have missed out on target Jonah Ayunga of Dorchester as the striker has signed for Brighton and Hove Albion.
11:23 – Update on the Ebecilio situation the admin error leaves Forest with one space in their squad but they will only be able to pay £5000 a week towards someone’s wages which leaves landing a signing unlikely, however if they can offload Kyle Ebecilio’s loan to another club they could open up more room for signings.
11:30 – Mansfield are looking likely to be one in one out today as Nicky Hunt looks set to leave the Stags and join Leyton Orient leaving the door open for Mansfield to sign a replacement.
12:25 – Today marks one year since Dougie Freedman took charge at Nottingham Forest, he’s steadied the ship at the club with a record of 17 wins, 16 draws and 17 defeats. Can he get any business done today.
12:45 – Reports are suggesting that Notts County have taken former England Under-21 centre back Miles Addison on trial as well as winger Jason Banton who was recently released by Wycombe Wanderers.
13:20 – Former Forest manager Billy Davies is favourite to land the Kilmarnock job but only if an agreement can be reached with Forest as Davies has been on gardening leave from the club since March 2014.
13:28 – Notts County have terminated the contract of former Belgium international Gill Swerts by mutual consent, the full back made 16 appearances for Notts County but had found first team football limited recently.
14:00 – With the news that John Terry is set to leave Chelsea at the end of the season, England cricketer Stuart Broad has taken to Twitter to try and bring the former England captain back to the City Ground where he had a brief loan spell in 1999.
14:30 – The BBC are reporting that Leyton Orient are close to confirming a signing which is believed to be that of Mansfield Town’s Nicky Hunt.
14:34 – Doncaster Rovers manager Darren Ferguson has said in a press conference that Notts County target Gary MacKenzie is ‘likely to go on loan to get game time.’
14:35 – DONE DEAL: We finally have our first deal of the day for Nottingham teams as Mansfield Town’s Nicky Hunt has signed for Leyton Orient for an undisclosed fee.
14:45 – Mansfield boss Adam Murray has said “We believe that we’ll be bringing somebody into the building who will make us stronger.” Possibly Daniel Alfei?
